ABOUT THIS GAME

Deadside is a hardcore multiplayer shooter set in a large open world with a focus on constant PvP and complex PvE against realistic enemies. Deadside aims to build an excellent open-world survival shooter experience while adding new ideas to create a gameplay experience unique to Deadside. Built with the powerful Unreal Engine 4, Deadside looks good and runs smoothly while doing it.

While the Deadside community may be small compared to other games out there, both the developers and players are very passionate.

THE WORLD OF DEADSIDE

The world of Deadside is a large peninsula populated by towns, campsites, military bases, and hostile AI. Players will eventually have access to an area of about 225 sq. km, entangled by a network of roads and rivers. While you wander the map, there will always be something in sight to explore or loot. You might find a player-made base or a tunnel with some enemies preparing an ambush on the other side. You will meet other players, and it is up to you to try and make a friend or to try and get some quick gear. If you get tired of running on foot, you can try and find a vehicle, at the risk of becoming a bigger and louder target. Once you find an area that you like, you can make it your home.

PvE EVENTS

If survival on its own isn't challenging enough for you, there are various events that pop up in the game world. This can be anything from a crashed helicopter to a convoy carrying a valuable case. Most events are guarded by dangerous, hostile AI, who will not hesitate to fire on anyone they see. If you manage to complete an event, you will be rewarded with high-quality loot that you sometimes cannot find anywhere else. But beware, there are other players on the map who will want this gear, too. These PvE Events have a secondary function: to draw players into a single area, creating organic PvP situations. Combined with the already challenging AI, you get a PvPvE experience that is completely unique to Deadside.

WEAPONS

One of the main features of Deadside is its gunplay. Each weapon is designed to fit a different playstyle, and with many weapons in the game, there will definitely be one that suits you. There are many different tiers of weapons, ranging from very modern tactical rifles to shotguns that haven't been cleaned in a few decades.

Firearms in Deadside have very realistic ballistics, requiring the shooter to both compensate for lead and drop of the bullet.

Weapons can be modified with attachments and can even be found with unique skins in locked loot crates.

TRADERS & SAFE ZONES

While the open world of Deadside can be a harsh and dangerous place, there are places to find some safety. These are the Safe Zones, where players cannot damage each other. Inside of these two zones are traders and free storage. The traders won't sell much until you earn a reputation with them by selling scrap metal. Only at the highest rep can you purchase the most sought-after items.

The free storage lockers provide an easy place for new players to safely store gear without creating a base and provide a backup stash in case your base gets raided. In the Safe Zone is where a lot of player interactions happen, so enjoy the “interesting” conversations.

BASE BUILDING and RAIDING

Deadside has a simple and intuitive base-building system that allows you to claim a location as your own. Your base provides a lot of utility, like your own workbench, water collector, drying rack, comfort bonus, and tons of storage. You can even store vehicles at your base for later. Using machines like the generator and material planers, you can upgrade your base to stronger materials to help defend against raiders. You can even make your base a fortress of auto-turrets and barbed wire!
