Server Setup Guide for New Server Owners

✅ Before diving in, make sure you’ve completed the following steps:

  • Rented a server from GG Host or GPortal
  • Activated your server
  • Named your server
  • Added your EOS ID as the lead admin
    • You can find your EOS ID in the upper-right corner of the Main Menu, or in-game by pressing the pause button
  • Restart your server for the changes to take effect

Once all steps are complete, you’ll gain access to the Server Admin Panel when you join your server.

Accessing the Admin Panel

🎮 The default hotkey to open the panel is:

  • PC: F10
  • Xbox (XSX/XSS): LT + RT + X + A
  • PlayStation 5: L2 + R2 + Square + Cross

The Admin Panel includes 8 tabs with various server management tools. Below is a breakdown of each one:

Tab 1 – Server

Manage basic server settings and key gameplay options.

Basic Info:

  • ID: Your server's name, set through your server provider account
  • Admin EOS ID & Name: Also managed via your server provider
  • Players / Maximum players: View current and max player counts (usually 20–50 slots)
  • Password: Set or remove a server password (applies to new logins only)
  • Camera: Toggle between 1st and 3rd person views
  • Battles: Choose between PvP, PvP (no raids), PvE, or PvP with scheduled raids
    • PvP: Players can damage/kill themselves or others using weapons
    • PvE - Disables the ability for players to damage/kill themselves or other players using weapons. This option will also disable the ability for players to loot corpses other than their own, and enable a green triangle that will appear above other players' heads when within render distance
  • Raiding schedule: Set start time and duration
  • Loot spawn chance: Adjust how often loot refreshes (does not affect quality)
  • Maximum squad size: Useful for balancing gameplay (e.g., limit to 3 per group)
  • Reserved space: Reserve server slots for admins only
  • Other settings: Max beds per player, sleeping bag rules, max vehicles
  • Time in the game: Adjust using 24-hour clock (e.g., 13:00 = 1 PM)

Tab 2 – Restart/wipe

Manage automatic server restarts.

  • Set one or more restart times (at least once every 24 hours is required)
  • Times are based on your server’s local timezone (shown in-game in pause menu)
  • ⚠️ All changes apply instantly

Tab 3 – Players

Monitor and manage players online.

Online: X/XX

  • View current player count and search by name
  • See each player’s EOS ID and profile
  • Ban players (removes them immediately)
  • Make players Admins (grants full access to admin panel)

Banned: X/500

  • View and search the banned list (up to 500)
  • Ban by EOS ID (useful if player is offline or renamed)
  • Unban players instantly

Administrators and Moderators: X/50

  • View list of admins (up to 50)
  • Remove admin status instantly

Tab 4 – Items

Spawn items or customize the starter kit.

Available Items

This section includes nearly every item in the game, organized into categories. You can use the search bar to quickly locate a specific item by name.

  • Create: Instantly spawns the selected item at your character's feet in-game. You’ll hear a cash register sound when it appears.
  • Add to Starter Kit: Adds the selected item to your server’s starter kit. This means all players will spawn with this item after each death.

Starter Kit

The starter kit allows you to customize what players start with each time they respawn.

  • The starter kit adds to the default spawn loadout on vanilla servers (e.g., shovel, lighter, 2-slot pants).
  • You can remove any item by selecting it in the list and clicking “Remove.” Changes are instant.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Adding a pistol to the starter kit will replace the default knife. Players will need to purchase a knife from a safe zone trader.
  • Certain items cannot be spawned or added to the kit. These include:
    • Keys for locked boxes
    • Dogtags
    • Skinned weapons, clothing, and equipment
    • Completed base-building items

Tab 5 – Messages

Set server messages for players.

MOTD (Message of the Day) [0/1000]:

  • Appears once per day in orange (at login & in chat)
  • Send: Broadcast instantly
  • Save: Update message

Message [x/1000]:

  • Periodic message shown in red (chat window only)
  • Can be set to auto-repeat at chosen intervals (0–720 minutes)

Tab 6 – Log

Review daily kill logs.

  • Displays the last 500 kill entries
  • The most recent entries are at the bottom
  • Use the search bar to filter by Name, EOS ID, weapon, distance, etc.
  • Note: the date format is year.month.day-hour.minute.second

Tab 7 – Gameplay

Fine-tune how your server plays.

Gameplay Activity settings (0–200%)

  • Adjust frequency of activities like patrols or events
    • 100% = default/vanilla
