Instructions for Manually Recovering Corrupted Save Files

1. Turning off synchronization with Steam Cloud for the game:

  • 1.1. Right-click on the game in your Steam library.
  • 1.2. Select "Properties."
  • 1.3. In the properties window, go to the "General" tab.
  • 1.4. Turn off "Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud for I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival."

2. Navigate to the save game folder:

  • Go to: %UserProfile%\AppData\LocalLow\Mandragora\I Am Future

3. Back up the SaveData folder (optional):

  • This folder contains your save files. If you have started a new game after the crash, backing up this folder is recommended.

4. Delete all files from the SaveData folder.

5. Restore the corrupted save file:

  • Transfer the corrupted.Story.profile1 file with the most recent modification date to the SaveData folder.
  • If multiple files have the same modification date, choose the one with the most recent modification time.
  • It's advisable to make backup copies of the corrupted save files in case recovery is unsuccessful.

6. Launch the game.

7. Click “Continue in Story Mode” from the profile where the save was corrupted.
