Of Ash and Steel was our first release as a studio, and bringing a project we had dreamed about for years into players’ hands meant more to us than we can easily put into words. But the launch wasn’t the end of the work. There was still plenty we wanted (and needed) to improve.
You stayed with us while we worked on the game, told us what wasn’t working, and helped us see where the right changes could make a real difference. Several patches later, Of Ash and Steel is in a much better place because of your input, and we’re ready to share the next chapter of Tristan’s journey with you.

Follow in the Footsteps of Primestriders
As Tristan, you’ll join a mysterious expedition to the far reaches of Grayshaft, seeking ancient artifacts. Follow the trail left by the Primestriders, make new allies, and uncover secrets from the island’s distant past. But the deeper Tristan ventures, the more he must confront a question of his own: if a path has been laid out by fate, can he still choose to abandon it?
A New Way to Fight
For the first time in Of Ash and Steel, Tristan will be able to wield magic.
Harness the purifying fire of the Order of the Seven or command the forces of nature alongside the Free Hunters. Choose between two schools of magic, weave spells into your existing fighting style, and experiment with entirely new combinations in combat.
The DLC also introduces a new weapon class and combat style. Switch between three stances and damage types to exploit your enemies’ weaknesses and adapt as the battle changes around you.
Go Where No Path Has Led Before
Journey through six new locations, from the Old Port of Grayshaft to a Hobster settlement hidden among the treetops. Use newly uncovered Ancient Knowledge to move through space, glide into underground depths, and reach places where no path has led before.
But tread carefully. Banshees, Falsestumps, and familiar creatures twisted by a mysterious corruption lurk beyond the known roads. Study their behaviour, exploit their weaknesses, and while you travel, look beyond the obvious path — you may discover that Grayshaft still has plenty of places left to map.
The Shattered Faith DLC will also introduce more than 50 random events, new weapons and armour, 12 unique perks, weapon enchanting, a new card game, the ability to create your own guild, and more.
There is still more work ahead before the Shattered Faith launches. We plan to release at least one more patch in the meantime, bringing further fixes and improvements to the base game. We’ll share more about it soon!
