FAQ

Why Early Access?

“The game already features most of the core systems and mechanics I envisioned, but there’s still so much more I want to explore and expand—both in terms of content and the depth of the experience. As a solo developer working on VOIN, I face the challenge of bringing my complete vision to life. Since VOIN is a hack-and-slash game with a blend of other genres like roguelike, RPG and extraction, there’s endless potential for new loot, weapons, and inventive ways to slay enemies. However, the more layers I add to the gameplay, the trickier it becomes to balance everything without input from a dedicated community of players. That’s why Early Access is the perfect fit—it allows me to steadily introduce new content while gathering invaluable feedback from those who play and engage with the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My goal is to release the full version within a year, though the exact timeline might change based on the feedback from you, the players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand the game with additional levels to explore, more bosses and enemies to face, and fresh, creative ways to defeat them—since my vision is to continually add new methods for slaying your foes. I also aim to enrich the story and deepen the lore of the world.

Naturally, I’ll be striving to ensure the final version is as polished and engaging as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“I’ve worked hard to make sure the Early Access version offers plenty of content to sink your teeth into. It includes two expansive, open-world-style levels to explore, dozens of unique loot and equipment pieces with their own distinct traits, a variety of enemy types, and a challenging boss encounter. You’ll also find a hub area where you can upgrade your gear, craft new equipment, and level up your character.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Depending on the scope of additional content I add to VOIN over time, the price may be increased at release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I’m actively engaged with the community, keeping a close eye on all messages in our official Discord server and on social media, which is linked to the game client. I’ve read every piece of feedback from those who played the demo version, and I fully intend to continue this throughout the entire Early Access period.

In addition, I’ll be conducting a survey after the start of Early Access and following each Major Update. I’ll also be regularly checking feedback on the Steam discussion forums, Steam reviews, and any other platforms where public discussions take place.

My goal is to create an ongoing dialogue with players, focusing on the game’s balance, content, and progression. With so many interconnected systems in VOIN, achieving perfect balance on my own would be nearly impossible. That’s why Early Access is the ideal path forward—it allows us to collaborate directly with the community to shape the best version of the game together.”

Gameplay FAQ

The Arena with the scythe in the middle is too difficult. What do I do?

The Sedogor's Arena is an END GAME challenge that requires powerful equipment and skills to survive the onslaught. It is recommended to level up your gear and find suitable weapons/builds before venturing into the arena. You need to defeat six ever-evolving waves of enemies to obtain a unique weapon - Veilrender. Once you complete the arena, you can restart it by paying 100k Ichor.

I'm lost and don't know where to go from the Red Forest to find Nomme!

You need to reach the top of the Citadel. Look around the Otar Amell location to find your way UP.

This is a new game mechanic that hasn't been implemented yet.

How do I level up my items and what does it actually mean?

You level up your items by: 1) Weilding them actively 2) Collecting duplicates of already unlocked items

Levelling up an item adds Augment Points to that item (indicated by a rainbow number on an item). With Augment Points, you can improve your item with various Prime and Lesser Augments. You can read more about the itemization system in VOIN here.

I died, and I need to start from the Hub?!

You have been stopped, but the act of vindication continues. You lose your collected Ichor when dead, but you can reclaim it. Just travel to where you have been slain (the red beam will indicate the precise location) and try to get your resources back. Be aware that if you die again on your way to the body, the previous body containing Ichor will be replaced by the new one, so tread carefully.

How many levels are currently available?

There are 3 main levels available (excluding the tutorial Ice Cave). To proceed to the next level, you must find and destroy Fleshsmiths - giant bosses, the guardians of each location and officers leading the otvrat invasion in the region. Once defeated, you'll be granted the scroll of the following location. You can choose those locations on the World Globe in Amarict.

I am stuck somewhere in the world!

You can press ESC and select Unstuck to teleport back to Amarict. However, all your corrupted equipment and Ichor will be lost!
