Troubleshooting BattlEye Issues
BattlEye is an anti-cheat system used by many online games. If the game won’t launch, crashes on startup, or shows BattlEye-related errors, try the steps below.
General BattlEye troubleshooting
If on Linux/Steam Deck, make sure you install the Proton BattlEye Runtime under your Steam library!
Temporarily disable software with overlays or background services, such as Razer Synapse, Nvidia App, Discord overlay, MSI Afterburner, or similar tools.
Game won’t launch crashes on startup
(e.g. Please verify the integrity of the game files error)
Verify the game files through Steam.
Reinstall BattlEye by running
Install_BattlEye.batfrom the game folder.Update Windows, your GPU drivers, and other system drivers.
Run the launcher as administrator and start the game directly from it.
Try moving the game into the same drive as your OS
“Failed to Initialize BattlEye Service” error
Open Windows Core Isolation settings.
Disable Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection.
Restart your PC and try launching the game again.
Blue screen (BSOD) when launching the game
Update your BIOS and drivers! This is very important if you are using a high-end Intel 13th or 14th Gen CPU.
Open Command Prompt as administrator.
Run:
verifier /resetRestart your PC.
Kicked from game: “Client not responding”
Restart your router.
Close unnecessary background apps.
Open Services with
Win + R→services.msc, find BattlEye Service, right-click it, and restart it.
