Connectivity issues
SpeedRunners 2 uses peer-to-peer (P2P) connections, meaning one player hosts the session instead of everyone connecting to a dedicated server. Because of this, the host’s connection and network settings can affect the whole group.
Before jumping online
Make sure that:
Everyone has installed the latest game update.
Your connection is stable and you aren’t using a VPN or proxy.
Console players have an active subscription for online multiplayer (PlayStation Plus, Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online)
General troubleshooting
If you cannot host, join, or stay connected:
Restart the game and your PC or console.
Restart your router by unplugging it for around 30 seconds.
Use a wired connection where possible, or move closer to your Wi-Fi router.
Ask another player to host. With P2P multiplayer, changing hosts can make a big difference!
Make sure your router has UPnP enabled and that your NAT type is not strict.
Check whether your platform’s online services are experiencing an outage.
PC
Allow SpeedRunners 2 through your firewall and antivirus software.
Disable VPNs, proxies, and network-filtering software.
Verify the game files through your launcher.
Restart your launcher.
Nintendo Switch
Open System Settings → Internet → Test Connection and check your NAT type. NAT Type A or B is best suited to online play.
If needed, follow Nintendo’s NAT troubleshooting guide.
PlayStation
Open Settings → Network → Connection Status → Test Internet Connection and check your NAT type. NAT Type 3 may prevent you from hosting or joining other players.
Xbox
Go to Settings → General → Network settings, then run Test multiplayer connection and Test NAT type.
A Strict or Unavailable NAT type may prevent you from hosting or joining other players.
